2021 Honda Odyssey vs 2021 Toyota Sienna
While sometimes its difficult to imagine just how long some vehicles have been around, it’s almost even more difficult to believe that the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna have only been around a little more than two decades. It seems like they’ve been dominating the minivan segment for far longer, and neither shows any signs of slowing down anytime soon. For the 2021 model year, the Toyota Sienna has been overhauled as it enters its fourth generation since inception, while the Honda Odyssey receives a mid-generation refresh halfway through its fifth.

Both of these incredible machines are available at our White’s showrooms, as both make excellent options within their segment. While they’re quite comparable to each other in many aspects – both are packed with industry-leading safety packages, the Odyssey with Honda Sensing and the Sienna with Toyota Safety Sense – they each also have their clear areas of expertise or edge out their long-time rival in important areas.
Just look to the table above for some examples. In the first row, we looked at power. The Honda Odyssey manages to generate an extra 35 hp more than the Swagger Wagon, which is a healthy advantage. However, the Sienna fires back in a massive way by achieving an extra 14 miles per gallon combined across city and highway driving thanks to its smaller, more efficient powertrain.
In the second half of the table, we turned towards space. While the Odyssey can accommodate a bit more of your cargo behind the third-row seats, 5.1 cubic feet of it to be more precise, the Toyota Sienna can comfortably accommodate a whole additional passenger to make up for it. These similarities and differences only scratch the surface of everything the Odyssey and Sienna have to offer, so don’t hesitate to give us a call to learn more.
