As technologies continue to advance and be improved upon, vehicles are now able to offer more features to reduce the risk of a collision. Honda also has some of the most ingenious safety technologies available for newer models, such as the Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assistive features. So, what is Honda LaneWatch™? And what advantages does it offer?
Honda LaneWatch™ is an innovative feature that helps drivers see what is happening on the passenger side of their Honda model when they plan to change or merge lanes. By utilizing an advanced camera on the passenger side mirror, drivers will have access to a live video feed on the Display Audio Touch-Screen that is a part of the infotainment system. The system is activated by turning on the right turn signal for when you are merging or changing into a lane to your right. A big advantage is that you will be able to see almost 4 times more than the average side mirror will show; it can also be useful when parallel parking.
Honda LaneWatch™ is available on select 2018 and 2019 Honda models and trim levels. The system is not meant to take over checking your blind spot or deeming that it is indeed safe to move lanes. Always stay vigilant when behind the wheel.
